What are Signups and Invitations?

Signups refer to the number of people who can put their name on your signup list and apply for access to your beta. All plans, including our free plan, come with unlimited signups.

Invitations are the number of people on your signup list who you can invite to participate in your beta.

An unlimited number of testers can signup and apply for access to your beta — no tester will ever be turned away. However, if you go over your plan limit you won't be able to invite additional testers until you upgrade to the next highest plan.

What is the Viral Invite System?

After a tester applies, we show our Social Sharing Form and provide them with a unique short URL that we encourage be shared out via email and social networks. The Social Sharing Form also includes quick, one-click links which allow the tester to share your beta across the social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious, and more.

We encourage the tester to invite their friends to get priority access to your beta. Of course, we track all clicks and signups for the URL and within your Prefinery administrator interface you can easily see which testers are helping you go viral.

What does White labeled mean?

White labeled means that the Powered by Prefinery branding will be removed from your application form.

What is the Invite-a-Friend Widget?

The Invite-a-Friend Widget lets your testers invite their friends to your beta. You decide how many friends each tester is allowed to invite, then just sit back and watch as your site goes viral!

What is SSL Security?

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer, but what it really means is that the data sent between Prefinery and your computer is safely encrypted. If extra security is important to your company then you'll want enhanced security with SSL.

What is included in the Analytics package?

With our powerful analytics package, you can view the growth of new tester applications and the number of times your application form was viewed (impressions) over time. In addition, the package includes email analytics such as open rate of your emails over time, unique opens, total opens, and percentage of all testers who have opened your emails.

What is the Feedback Widget?

Capture feedback from your testers right on your website by installing our feedback widget. Using our form builder you can gather any information you want from your testers, and their feedback will be directly linked to their profile.

All feedback can be exported to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file, which can easily be opened in Excel and most other spreadsheet applications.

What does Data Export mean?

Your data is yours. We provide multiple ways to get your data out of Prefinery.

You can export all testers to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file, which can easily be opened in Excel and most other spreadsheet applications, or to an XML file. Prefinery also offers a direct export to various CRM and E-mail marketing services, such as Highrise by 37signals, Campaign Monitor, and MailChimp.

All plans allow you to export your data.

What is a Launching Soon Page?

Your Launching Soon Page (also known as a Coming Soon Page or Teaser Page) is a fully customizable, one-page promotional website for your new application. It's perfect if you're in a pre-launch stage and you're not yet ready to spend lots of money on fancy web hosting.

Use your Launching Soon Page in combination with your Prefinery application form to attract potential customers and measure interest during, or even before, development. You can even use your own domain name!

What are Managers?

Managers are people within your company who are allowed to administer your beta program. Prefinery gives you unlimited managers and never charges a per-seat license fee.
